A furious Daniil Medvedev blasted the Australian Open crowd at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, slamming them as ‘empty-brained idiots’.
The Russian is currently taking on 20-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal in the final of the event down-under but is less than impressed with the bumper crowd watching.
Things were all going the way of Medvedev, as he took the opening two sets to assert his dominance on the game.
However in typical Nadal fashion, the roaring Spaniard fought back in set three to take it 6-4, and get himself right back into the match as he hunts down a record 21st Grand Slam crown.
Following his loss of the third set, a restless Medvedev let out a furious outburst to the match umpire, slamming the Melbourne crowd.
The Russian told the official: “You need to say if anyone shouts out on second serve.
“They are an idiot. They are idiots. Empty brained.”
This is not the first time the world No. 2 has been seen venting his frustrations to the umpire, after he let out a remarkable outburst in his semi-final clash with Stefanos Tsitsipas.
After appearing to see his final four opponent being coached by his father from courtside, the Russian went on a brutal tirade, taking his anger out on the official.
Medvedev was heard screaming: “His father can talk every point! Bro, are you stupid? His father can talk every point! His father can talk every point!
“Can you answer my questions please? Can his father talk every point?”

“Once he was slapped with a violation, Medvedev continued, completely incensed: “Oh my God, you are so bad man!
“How can you be so bad in the semi-final of a Grand Slam? Look at me! I’m talking to you!”
Of course Medvedev went on to win his semi-final clash following the outburst, and will no doubt be hoping for the same result this time around.
However he now has a battle on his hands, as Nadal fought back once more to win the fourth 6-4, to level things up at two sets apiece.
