The funeral arrangements have been announced for a "Dublin nurse with a soul full of kindness" who died after a "'long and brave battle with cancer'.
Tributes have been flowing in for 36-year-old Ciara Barry who was described as having a "bright light and smile." The young woman died in Florida after travelling over for a clinical trial.
Ciara Barry arrived in The Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida on May 24 after people all over the country came together to help raise money for her potentially life-saving treatment. Ciara had been diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time having first been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma as a teen.
Her heartbroken family announced the news that Ciara died on August 13, aged 36. She will be reposing at her family home in Rathfarnham on Friday, 2 September before removal to the Church of the Holy Spirit, Ballyroan.
Donations if desired can be sent to “CanTeen”, a teenage cancer support group.
A notice on RIP.ie reads: "Ciara will repose at her family home in Rathfarnham on Friday, the 2nd of September, from 5pm to 9pm. Removal to the Church of the Holy Spirit, Ballyroan, Saturday, 3rd September, to arrive for 11am Requiem Mass with cremation thereafter to Mt Jerome (Victorian Chapel)."
