A fundraiser has been set up to assist the family of Kevin Sheedy, who was killed in a road traffic collision last week.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian and driver on the N81 near Tallaght. The incident occurred on 11 January at roughly 7pm.
Mr Sheedy was treated at the scene for his injuries but was later pronounced dead. The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman aged in her 40s, did not require hospital treatment following the crash.

A GoFundMe has now been launched to assist Mr Sheedy's family in the aftermath of his death, which has amassed €12,232 to date. All funds will go towards the funeral expenses faced by the family.
The GoFundMe, approved by Mr Sheedy's family, reads: "We understand and are aware we may not reach the full figure as everyone is only getting through Christmas like the Sheedy family. However, we hope to get as close as possible to this figure and urge anyone that would have had the pleasure of ever meeting Kevin to contribute something even it means only sharing the appeal forward."
Gardai are looking for those in the vicinity of the N81 at the time of the incident to come forward. Road users who were travelling in the area between 6.45 and 7.00pm with access to dash-cam footage are asked to make this available to Gardai.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station 01 666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
