Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis has addressed the allegations leveled against her and a special prosecutor in the case involving former President Trump's alleged election subversion in Georgia. The accusations claim that Willis had a romantic relationship with the prosecutor and financially benefited from his salary. In her first public comments on the matter, Willis maintained her innocence and suggested that the allegations were rooted in racism.
Refuting the allegations, Willis declared that she had not engaged in any improper conduct and dismissed calls for her to step down from the case. During a Sunday service, she asserted her right as the District Attorney to appoint three special counselors and stated that she had paid them all the same hourly rate. Willis expressed her frustration that only one prosecutor was being attacked.
