Full time Post Office services are to make a welcome return to an Ayrshire village.
Coylton Post Office is to move to a new location next month in order to restore a full-time service.
It will open at the Claude Hamilton Hall, 25 Hillhead, Coylton, on Thursday, October 27 at 1pm.
The current temporary mobile service, which operates from Murray Park car park, Coylton, once a week, will end on Friday, October 21 at 2.30pm.
This service has been provided by the Postmaster for Dalrymple.
During the interim, alternative Post Office include: Burns Statue Square Post Office, 41 Burns Statue Square, Ayr, KA7 1SZ and Ayr Post Office, 198 High Street, Ayr, KA7 1RH.
The opening hours of the new branch will be Monday–Friday: 9am – 5pm; Saturday: 9am – 1pm.
This will offer 44 hours of Post Office services a week, making it far more convenient to visit.
The previous branch at 58A Main Street, Joppa, Coylton, closed in June 2020.
A Post Office spokesperson said: “We are keen to restore a full-time branch to the area as soon as possible, so we have decided to go ahead with our plans.”
And Scott Hamilton, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring a full-time Post Office to Coylton as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.
“We thank the Postmaster for Dalrymple for providing the Mobile Post Office in Coylton.”
