Keeping to the speed limit can keep you and other road users safe. And to make sure you and everyone travelling in and around Edinburgh are driving safely, there are a number of speed cameras located throughout the city.
You can be penalised for driving too fast as well as too slow, with anyone caught facing a fine, penalty points or even facing a court appearance.
If you are caught speeding you risk getting at least three points on your licence. In some cases you may also face driving disqualification or ban because of the speed you were going or because of 'totting up' rules. If your penalty points mount up by 12, you could lose you licence.

To make sure you are driving same, Safety Cameras Scotland lists the locations of all the speed cameras across Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland.
The site aims to help improve driver behaviour on our roads, encouraging everybody to 'Know Your Limits' and ensure they drive at a speed appropriate to road conditions.
