Full list of BrewDog bars closing down after sale to US firm

BrewDog has announced the immediate closure of 38 of its bars, resulting in 484 redundancies, administrators for the craft brewer confirmed.

This move follows a £33 million rescue deal that saw US firm Tilray Brands acquire the BrewDog brand, its UK brewing operations, and 11 of its pub venues across the UK and Ireland.

The sale to Tilray, which boasts a portfolio of other craft brewing companies and medical cannabis businesses, came after BrewDog struggled to achieve profitability in recent years.

The company had appointed administrators to oversee the sale process.

BrewDog has faced significant financial challenges, including a £37 million loss recorded in the previous year.

Earlier this year, it ceased operations for its gin and vodka brands in Aberdeenshire, and last year, it closed several pubs and cut jobs in an effort to stem mounting losses.

While 484 staff members will lose their jobs due to the latest closures, 733 employees will see their positions preserved as they transition to become workers for Tilray Brands UK.
