Morrisons is set to close 132 of its "loss-making" McColl's stores - with 1,300 roles at risk.
The supermarket confirmed it would purchase the failing convenience store chain in May this year, as part of a £190million rescue deal.
At the time, some 16,000 roles were at risk of being made redundant and 1,100 stores were in line for closure.
