Leeds United will be looking to channel the spirit of last season's dramatic 2-1 win when they take on Manchester City away at Elland Road this weekend. The Whites managed to give themselves a five-point buffer between themselves and 18th-placed Everton thanks to a 0-0 draw on Monday night against Crystal Palace.
The City clash begins a gruelling slate of three challenging contests for Jesse Marsch's side, with Arsenal and Chelsea next up after taking on Pep Guardiola's side. Ahead of what will be a tough match for Leeds, he is a look at the state of play in the Thorp Arch treatment room after Marsch's press conference yesterday.
Crysencio Summerville - Ankle
The 2021/22 campaign has been something of a breakthrough season for Dutch midfielder Crysencio Summerville. The 20-year-old has made six appearances in the Premier League for Leeds this season and according to Marsch had been training strongly in recent weeks.
Sadly, the youngster's season is over after picking up an ankle injury before Monday's nights clash against Crystal Palace.
What Marsch said (28.04.22): " Crysencio Summerville picked up an injury in the last training we had before the Palace match which is really unfortunate because he's been in really good form. He twisted his ankle and he will be done for the season unfortunately."
Potential return date: Out for season
Adam Forshaw - Knee
As previously reported, Forshaw will miss the rest of the season after fracturing his kneecap in a collision. However, Marsch did provide a brief update on the midfielder.
What Marsch said (28.04.22): "Adam [Forshaw] is moving forward in a good way but it'll still be some time for him."
Potential return date: Out for season
Patrick Bamford - Foot
Leeds could really do with the return of England international Patrick Bamford to help bolster their chances of survival. Last season, Bamford hit an impressive 17 goals in the Premier League, helping the Whites to a ninth placed finish. The City game could prove to be a touch too early for him, but Marsch is confident that he should be back sooner rather than later.

What Marsch said (28.04.22): Patrick [Bamford] has been making progress and we're hopeful that we can see him later in the season.
"Patrick will not be ready [for this weekend] but I suspect and probably can expect, that he will be on the pitch next week. So let's see, we have to be cautious but we're all optimistic about Patrick at this point."
Potential return date: 08.05.22 - Arsenal (A)
Tyler Roberts - Hamstring
Marsch also provided a brief update on Tyler Roberts, who will still miss the remainder of the season following a hamstring injury suffered at Leicester City.
What Marsch said (28.04.22): "Tyler [Roberts] is making good progress as well."
Potential return date: Out for season
Finally, Marsch finished his injury update with reassuring news for Leeds United fans. Marsch said: "Other than that, I think everyone else is fully healthy and ready to go. The last thing I'll say is we're obviously excited for a big match, we think it's the best team in the world against the best club in the world. You can decide which is which."
