Erling Haaland was crowned as the FWA Footballer of the Year on Friday morning for the first time after an outstanding debut season at Manchester City.
Haaland, 22, has netted 35 top-flight goals this season and is the outright top scorer in a single Premier League campaign since the competition started in 1992, eclipsing Andy Cole and Alan Shearer's previous record. He has added a further 16 in Europe to take his tally to 51 in all competitions.
In second place was Arsenal's Bukayo Saka . The England international has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in the league this term and has helped spearhead the Gunners' title charge, with Mikel Arteta's men currently second and one point behind Haaland's Man City.
Moving down to number three is Saka's club teammate and Haaland's compatriot Martin Odegaard . The Norway ace has been exceptional for the Gunners in 2022/23, striking double-figures for goals for the first time in four years. He has 15 in the Premier League, while notching seven assists.
Kevin De Bruyne was named in fourth position, having endured another terrific campaign in a Man City shirt. The Belgian is on course to win the Playmaker award with 16 assists to his name in the Premier League - five more than the next best in Saka (11). He has also scored seven goals.
After a shambolic 2021/22 season, Marcus Rashford has bounced back in some style and completes the top five in the FWA Footballer of the Year rankings. Rashford, 25, has scored 16 Premier League goals this term and is leading Manchester United's charge for a Champions League finish.
Some fans were baffled to see where Harry Kane was ranked. The all-time England goalscorer was named in sixth despite netting a remarkable 26 Premier League goals. Kane is second behind Haaland in the scoring charts this season.
Down in seventh is West Ham captain Declan Rice . The midfielder has been linked with a mega-money move away from the London Stadium after impressing for the Hammers once again this season. Arsenal and Manchester United are amongst the frontrunners for his signature.
Casemiro has made a superb impact at United since his move from Real Madrid last summer, and despite his disciplinary record, he was listed as eighth. The Brazilian has missed seven Premier League matches through suspension - but has still been recognised for the work he has done this term.
2022 FWA Footballer of the Year Mohamed Salah was named in ninth despite striking 19 goals for Liverpool this season. He is the third top scorer in the division but has dropped eight rankings since winning the award last term.
Newcastle ’s terrific campaign could be rewarded with a Champions League place, and one of their star men has made a lot of difference since his move from Atletico Madrid 15 months ago. Kieran Trippier has been named as the 10th best player in the Premier League this season, having impressed in the Magpies side.
James Maddison, Granit Xhaka, Rodri, John Stones and Moises Caicedo made up the remainder of the top-15 after excelling at their respective clubs. There was no place for Jack Grealish, Gabriel Martinelli or Ivan Toney on the shortlist, however. With that in mind, here is the rankings in full...
