Bristol Pride celebrations are just over a month away and plans have been released for some of the events taking place as part of the festivities. While the main bash is on Pride Day - July 8th - there are some smaller events during the run-up.
If you’re a fan of drag queens and love a bit of bingo, then Bristol Pride has the perfect event for you, as long as you don’t mind boats. On Saturday June 24, organisers will hold the Drag Queen Bingo Boat party for those 18+ but you’ll need to get in quickly as there’s only tickets left for the 12.30pm slot left.
The main events kick off with the Pride Parade on the July 8, where people are welcome to join the march. Organisers ask large groups and charities wishing to participate register their interest on the site.

Pride Day on the Downs
The biggest event celebrating pride is Pride Day itself, which will take place on the Downs after the Pride Parade. Last year, organisers saw 40,000 people attend, a feat that helped it win the Best Event 2022 in the Bristol Life awards as well as the Best LGBTQ+ Event 2022 in the Southern Enterprise awards.
This year plans are in place with some big names already having been announced. Earlier this year, organisers announced that front man of the Scissor Sisters Jake Shears would be headlining the event on the main stage. And the big names for the main stage don’t stop there, organisers have also got the likes of Natalie Imbruglia and Nadine Coyle and many more, the full list is on its website.
The festival will be home to three more stages this year - the Cabaret stage, the Get Qweird and Punka stage and the dance performance stage. On site there’s the circus tent, the family area, the youth area, a silent disco, wellbeing area and a diverse sensory calm space.
Those attending the festival can get their hands on supporter wristbands that will not only support pride but also give the wearer access to rewards on the day, more information here.
After party
There is an official after party event with 18-year-olds and older able to attend at the O2 Academy. Spread across three rooms, local DJs and performances will take place, displaying top international talent. From The Shapeshifters to Guilty Pleasures, R&SHE and Dirty Pop, those attending the event will be spoilt for choice with the sets being played.
There are more events in the run-up to Pride day, all the information can be found here.
