For the first time in seven seasons, Bristol City will kick-start their campaign away from home as they make the lengthy trip to Hull City on July 30.
The Robins faced the Tigers on the final home game of last season, emerging dominant 5-0 victors, and earned a 2-2 draw away from home in the reverse fixture when Matty James scored an injury-time equaliser.
City's first home game will come against newly-promoted Sunderland in the following week, handing Nigel Pearson and his side a golden opportunity to hit the ground running with two agreeable fixtures.
That's then followed up by an away trip to another newly-promoted side in Wigan before hosting back-to-back games at Ashton Gate against Kal Naismith's former club Luton and a clash against Severnside rivals Cardiff on August 20 where the Robins will welcome back Callum O'Dowda.
In fact, City will be clocking up the miles in their first six away matches of the season with lengthy trips up to the north of England. After Hull and Wigan, they take on Blackpool, Blackburn, Norwich and Burnley.
The game against the Canaries, a midweek fixture on September 14, is the first contest against a newly-relegated Premier League side. Unlike last season, City are at home on Boxing Day when they host Steve Bruce's West Brom which is then followed up by an away trip to Millwall three days later in a hectic festive schedule.
City remain away from home on New Year's day as they face Kasey Palmer's Coventry before they enjoy a two-week break until they host Birmingham City.
Pearson's side will face a difficult run-in towards the end of the season. In their final seven matches, they play four games away from home in Stoke, Watford, Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers on the last day of the campaign. Their home matches include fixtures against Middlesbrough, Rotherham and Burnley.
