The 102MP Fujifilm GFX100RF is Fujifilm's first medium-format compact camera – and still the highest-resolution camera of its kind. If you own one, you know just how much detail this camera can deliver.
Now, Fujifilm has released a new firmware update. And while firmware updates can sometimes bring major improvements or entirely new features, they can also be more modest – and this latest update firmly falls into the latter category.
Fujifilm has made a single, fairly minor improvement – in line with previous updates. But while this firmware doesn't introduce any new features, it's still worth knowing what's changed if you're shooting with Fujifilm's compact powerhouse.
New firmware: GFX100RF
Firmware Ver.1.12

Improvements
The firmware update Ver.1.12 from Ver.1.10/Ver.1.11 incorporates the following issue: A firmware bug is fixed that the eye sensor fails to activate in rare cases when viewing through the EVF at preview mode.
Pro Advice
If you caught Episode 4 of Bokeh Face: Digital Camera World podcast, we discussed the best time to install firmware updates, why they matter, but also what issues they can cause. It's a helpful listen if you're unsure when – or whenever – you should update.
It's smart to wait a week or two after release to see if any users hit snags. In the past, brands have had a few hiccups with major updates – for instance, introducing memory-setting bugs or minor interface glitches before being reissued.
Such problems are less likely this time, as Ver. 1.12 is a very minor update, but it always pays to be safe!
