Russia’s attack on Europe’s largest nuclear power plant today triggered more turbulence for financial markets as London stocks came under fresh selling pressure.
Initial reports of a fire at the Zaporizhzhia site in eastern Ukraine caused a sharp risk-off reaction from markets , with the FTSE 100 later down 3% at its lowest point since before Christmas.
Brent crude also resumed its upward momentum to stand at more than $112 a barrel.
