FTSE 100 Live: London shares finish week ahead after late climb, pound below $1.25

London’s top flight is down today despite starting ahead, with GSK among the risers while yesterday’s top winner Melrose leads today’s fallers board.

That means the index appears set to close the week slightly ahead.

Lndon is also set to lose another listed company, with music rights fund Round Hill to be boguht by a US firm.

Elsewhere, London housebuilder Berkeley maintained its guidance despite the impact of interest rate rises, while a Deutsche Bank note hit Diageo shares.
