If there’s one person on the Tennessee Titans we can depend on for the most honest take possible, it’s safety Kevin Byard — and the veteran and team leader provided one once again after the team’s Week 15 loss.
A frustrated Byard was brutally honest, saying he doesn’t really care about the division because he’s tired of just being a playoff team. He also rightly added this team doesn’t look like one that can beat any opponent right now.
“The division is still there but personally I couldn’t care less about that,” Byard said. “I mean, obviously we want to win the division and all that stuff, but I’m not really into like just getting to the playoffs and all that [expletive]. It doesn’t look like we’re a team right now that’s going to beat anybody. We’ve got to find a way to get back to work and beat Houston.”
Making matters worse for the struggling Titans, they saw a slew of players go down to injury on Sunday. Just like the rest of us, Byard is as dumbfounded by the snake-bitten Titans’ injury issues.
“I’m not going to lie to you, I don’t know what’s going on,” Byard said. “I don’t have any answers for you. I don’t know injuries, like I’ve never been apart of anything like this. You’re on the sideline and you see guys come out, guys go in, and then kind of scramble to the sideline trying to get replacements. You know, I don’t have any answer for you, but it’s one thing that you’ve got to just try to just block out of your mind when you’re on the field and you’re on the sideline because you understand that we’ve got to play. Whoever is out there has to go out there and execute.”
Very clear that #Titans safety Kevin Byard is frustrated after the 4 game losing streak. Said the division is still within grasp but he feels they have to find a way to turn things around quickly vs Texans on Saturday. pic.twitter.com/nAYSQ62C1e
