Frontier Airlines to launch 16 new flights to destinations you need to get to

While Denver-based low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines  (FRON)  is better-known for travel to a few particular locations, the airline has quickly been building out a network of flights to different destinations across North America.

The carrier, which was founded in 1994 by former United  (UAL)  pilot Rick Brown along with his wife Janice Brown and business partner Bob Schulman, started out running flights between its home base in Denver and North Dakota — then slowly built out to other domestic and eventually international destinations.

As of its 30-year anniversary, the airline flies to more than 120 cities.

Frontier launches 16 new flights: Here is where they go

The airline tends to announce many new flights at once and, on Nov. 20, it revealed 16 new routes to both secondary-market regional U.S. cities and holiday destinations like Antigua and Barbuda, Florida and Nevada.

Some of the new routes announced include flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Orlando, Chicago, Cincinnati and Phoenix — as well as new routes from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Tucson and Reno, and Indianapolis Airport Authority (IND) to Tampa and Atlanta.

More on travel:

In terms of holiday destinations, there are new routes to Orlando International Airport (MCO) from Nashville, Oklahoma City, Austin and Los Angeles, and a new route between Puerto Rico’s San Juan and V.C. Bird International Airport (ANU) in Antigua and Barbuda in the Caribbean.

‘Expanded service from cities coast to coast’

While not to tropical destinations, there are also new flights to Miami from Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Connecticut’s Hartford and new routes to Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) from Denver and Las Vegas.

“As consumers begin planning travel for Spring 2025 and beyond, we are delighted to announce 16 new routes to a host of exciting destinations,” Frontier VP of Network And Operations Josh Flyr said in a statement. “With our return to Tucson, Ariz., Reno, Nev., and Antigua and Barbuda, and with expanded service from cities coast to coast, consumers can continue to look to Frontier as their ultra-low cost carrier of choice.”

The routes run on Frontier’s Airbus A320  (EADSF)  planes. While the flight between Puerto Rico and Antigua and Barbuda will start running Feb. 15, 2025 most of the other routes will begin in March 2025. With the exception of a new daily Los Angeles to Orlando route, the other flights will run either two or three times a week.

While the flights are not running for another four months, these flights are already open to booking for those who can plan their vacation far ahead of time.

As part of the promotional period, Frontier is offering introductory fares that range from $19 each way for short flights like Nashville to Orlando and Denver to Tucson and $69 for longer routes like Austin to Chicago. International trips are not part of the promotion.

The rates need to be searched for on Frontier’s website; the promotional fare is only available for specific times that are usually mid-week and outside of popular holiday periods.

They also do not include any airport taxes or extra services such as checked baggage or seat selection added to the bill. The introductory fares are available until 11:59 p.m. EST on Nov. 25, 2024.
