
Every generation has its famous food fads. Boomers had prawn cocktails and jelly where it shouldn’t be. Millennials got grief for popularising avocado toast, flat whites, kale and quinoa.
Now Gen Z is in ascendance/to blame for all social ills, what with their love of eating dinner before 6pm. And while there’s more subtlety to food and drink trends than simply the evolving palettes of the youth, it’s interesting to consider how each generation gets identified with the ingredients that have become popular under their watch.
