NEW DELHI: Both houses of Parliament were adjourned on the very first day of the monsoon session which commenced on Thursday following pandemonium over the ongoing ethnic clashes in Manipur and parading of two women naked.

At least five Congress MPs of the Rajya Sabha and one of the Lok Sabha submitted suspension of business under Rule 267 and adjournment motion under Rule 56 respectively on Thursday to discuss the Manipur violence issue.
