Pastor recounts ‘miracle’ release from Chinese prison after Trump intervened

Ezra Jin Mingri, a 57-year-old Chinese Christian pastor, faced the grim prospect of at least 15 years in a southern China detention center and questioned if he would ever regain his freedom.

But in a dramatic turn of events, he suddenly found himself 15 time zones away, savoring an In-N-Out hamburger in Los Angeles and watching fireworks on the eve of America's 250th Independence Day.
