The death of Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins, has plunged the rock world into dark times.
Almost instantly after the news of Hawkins' death in Columbia broke, messages of tribute came from all corners the music industry.
Miley Cyrus breaks down on stage, dedicates performance
During her performance at Lollapalooza in Sao Paulo on the night of March 26, Cyrus opened up about Hawkins' sudden passing, saying it left her "really sad" as she wiped away tears on stage.
While on her way to headline the Asuncionico festival in Paraguay, Cyrus' plane had to make an emergency landing after it was struck by a bolt of lightning.
The performer revealed Hawkins was the first person she called when it happened.
"We had to make this emergency landing and the first person I called was Taylor, because he was already at the festival," she said as she wiped away tears.
"I would've done anything to hang out with him one more time."
Oasis front man Liam Gallagher honoured Hawkins
During a concert at London's Royal Albert Hall on March 26, Gallagher dedicated his performance of Oasis' Live Forever to Hawkins.
"This is for you, brother," he said to the crowd.
Elton John dedicated Iowa performance
Saturday night brought another memorable tribute to Hawkins: Elton John dedicated his classic song, Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me to him.
John took a moment at his show to say a few words for Hawkins.
"It seems so sad that at 50 years of age we've lost someone who had that much passion," he said.
"His music will live on."
The Rolling Stones, Stevie Nicks and Guns N' Roses shared tributes
Front man of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger and Beatles drummer, Ringo Starr, were among the many musicians to express their reaction to Hawkins' passing.
Guns N' Roses' front man Axl Rose said he was "shocked and saddened" in a tweet upon hearing the news.
In separate Twitter posts, Kiss members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley said they were "speechless" and "gutted."
Rock and roll icon Stevie Nicks shared a touching tribute on Twitter and Instagram, posting two black and white photos of Hawkins and herself.
