From Maddison to McTominay - The verdict on the big five Newcastle United transfer rumours

Newcastle United still have a battle on their hands to secure a top four spot and therefore Champions League football for next season - and despite the football left to be played, that hasn't stopped the club being linked to several players ahead of the summer window. On this week's episode of The Everything is Black and White Podcast, we look at the big five rumours and asses their likelihood of becoming reality.

Podcast host Andrew Musgrove is joined by Newcastle United Editor Aaron Stokes to pass their verdict on the biggest transfer links so far this year - and not only whether Newcastle need that player or position but whether the deal will actually happen. With Newcastle unsure of which European competition they'll be taking part in next season, Toon boss Eddie Howe has already admitted that the club are working from several different lists ahead of the summer window.

Yet the same old names keep cropping up. Andrew and Aaron look at links to James Maddison, Scott McTominay, Kieran Tierney, James Ward-Prowse and Victor Osimhen, while viewers watching the live broadcast of the episode all put forward further suggestions such as Moussa Diaby and Raphinha.

The pair pass their judgment on the links and give a mark out of 10 on the possibility of the players moving to Tyneside in the summer.
