The most stressful time of year is finally out of the way: that's right, tickets for the 2024 Glastonbury Festival are now sold out.
As usual, most punters who got lucky in the notoriously in-demand general sales will have bought tickets without knowing who they'll be seeing: the first wave of acts has since been announced with Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA confirmed as headliners.
There’s also one final chance to bag the goods – the ticket resales.
The line up reveals
Unlike most festivals, Glastonbury chooses to play its cards close to its chest when it comes to the line-up. Generally, the first big batch of acts drops in March, with the crucial musical intel arriving in the form of the first poster. True to form, this year’s Stanley Donwood-designed poster landed on March 14.
The full line-up and all other acts generally follow in May (last year, it dropped on May 30) - only a month before the festival started in June.
Of course, this generally means that most people buying tickets (bar those who get lucky in the resale) are doing so without knowing who exactly they’re lining up to see. The trade-off is that the final list of acts playing - ultimately, more than 3000 - is so big that there’s always something for everyone.
The resale date
Another crucial Glastonbury date is the Spring resale. For anybody who missed out on festival tickets in the general sale, this is the final chance to secure the goods. Typically, the resale takes place at the beginning of April - last year's coach resale was on April 20, with a general resale on April 23.
Roughly in line with past dates, this year’s resale has been confirmed. A “very limited” number of coach tickets will go on sale at 6pm on Thursday 18 April, with a small resale for general tickets to follow at 9am on Sunday 21 April.

The balance payment date
The final date to pay off your balance for Glastonbury tickets was in the first week of April 2024. Sadly, anybody who didn’t manage to pay for their tickets in full by this time will have lost them, and they will be resold.
Hints and tips
An impatient soul? Don’t content yourself with waiting around for May’s full line-up and schedule: for the Glastonbury faithful, there’s always some good sleuthing to be done when it comes to potential secret sets, further announcements, and surprise guests.
And don’t forget to check in on the rumoured celebs themselves. Often, they’ll be dropping hints of their own: just like the Foo Fighters as speculation heated up about their 2023 secret set appearance on the Pyramid Stage. Or, in Liam Gallagher’s case, they’ll be denying it entirely - bar the emergence of a surprise secret set, at least we know he’s probably not playing 2024.
And last but not least, there are a number of dedicated Glastonbury gossip channels that will be cranking into gear as the festival approaches, the most prominent of which are Secret Glasto and Glasto Fest Feed. Keep an eye on them; doubtless the rumour mill will continue to churn as the line-up announcements continue.
