From Cherai back to Ukraine with the Red Cross, Olga Kozyrenko has come a long way

KOCHI: Soon after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, Olga Kozyrenko left Kyiv to take her six-year-old daughter Yeva, born in Kochi in 2016, to the Hungarian border to hand her over to her husband Sucena de Sousa Eduardo, a Portuguese national.

With her daughter safe, Olga is working round-the-clock as a volunteer with the International Committee of Red Cross, providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) to those displaced and stranded due to the war.
