The second half of 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most competitive telenovela seasons in years for Spanish-language television. Telemundo is betting on proven franchises, including the final chapter of one of the most successful narco sagas in TV history and the return of a fan-favorite Colombian franchise. TelevisaUnivision, meanwhile, is leaning into classic melodrama with ranch romances, family feuds and international love stories designed to attract audiences across broadcast television and streaming.
