The second half of 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most competitive telenovela seasons in years for Spanish-language television. Telemundo is betting on proven franchises, including the final chapter of one of the most successful narco sagas in TV history and the return of a fan-favorite Colombian franchise. TelevisaUnivision, meanwhile, is leaning into classic melodrama with ranch romances, family feuds and international love stories designed to attract audiences across broadcast television and streaming.
Here are five of the biggest scripted titles expected to drive conversation among Latino viewers in the United States through the end of the year.
1. El Señor de los Cielos 10 (Telemundo)
The biggest television event of the season is undoubtedly the tenth and final season of El Señor de los Cielos. The franchise has been a cornerstone of Telemundo's primetime lineup for more than a decade, transforming Rafael Amaya's Aurelio Casillas into one of the most recognizable characters in Spanish-language television.
The final season finds Casillas facing enemies on all sides while trying to protect his family and criminal empire. Telemundo has described the new episodes as the closing chapter of the saga that helped define the network's superseries era.
Alongside Amaya, returning cast members include Carmen Aub, Iván Arana, Isabella Castillo and Robinson Díaz.
Premiere: July 7, 2026
Where to watch: Telemundo and Peacock
2. El Turco (Telemundo)
Turkish heartthrob Can Yaman is finally making his long-awaited U.S. Hispanic television debut with El Turco, one of Telemundo's most anticipated acquisitions of the year.
Based on historical events, the series follows Hasan Balaban, an Ottoman soldier who escapes execution after a failed military campaign and finds refuge in a remote Italian village. There, he becomes an unlikely hero while falling in love and battling powerful enemies.
The series has already generated significant attention across Latin America and Europe thanks to Yaman's massive international fan base. Telemundo is betting that popularity will translate into ratings among U.S. Latino viewers who have increasingly embraced Turkish dramas.
The cast also includes Greta Ferro and Will Kemp.
Premiere: July 7, 2026
Where to watch: Telemundo and Peacock
3. Tierra de Amor y Coraje (TelevisaUnivision)
One of TelevisaUnivision's biggest traditional telenovela launches of the year, Tierra de Amor y Coraje combines romance, revenge and family secrets against a rural backdrop.
The story follows two families whose lives become intertwined after a tragedy connected to valuable land and hidden ambitions. The project brings together a young cast led by Sofía Castro, Emmanuel Palomares, Brandon Peniche and Emilio Osorio.
Produced by José Alberto Castro, one of Televisa's most successful producers, the telenovela is expected to be a centerpiece of the network's fall lineup.
Premiere: August 2026
Where to watch: Las Estrellas, Univision and ViX
4. Sabor a Ti: Entre Historias y Secretos (TelevisaUnivision)
Family dynasties, vineyards and hidden betrayals are at the heart of Sabor a Ti: Entre Historias y Secretos, a romantic drama set in Mexico's wine-producing region.
Eva Cedeño and Mario Morán lead the cast as two people brought together by love while navigating inheritance battles, long-buried secrets and rival family interests.
The project reflects TelevisaUnivision's strategy of blending classic telenovela storytelling with visually ambitious settings designed to appeal to both traditional viewers and younger streaming audiences.
Premiere Window: Fall 2026
Where to watch: Las Estrellas, Univision and ViX
5. Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso (Telemundo)
Few franchises have generated as much loyalty among Telemundo viewers as Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso. Nearly a decade after becoming a cultural phenomenon, the series is returning with a new chapter that reunites many of its most beloved stars.
Carmen Villalobos returns as Catalina Santana alongside Majida Issa, Catherine Siachoque, Gregorio Pernía and Fabián Ríos. Production began in Colombia earlier this year.
While Telemundo has not yet announced an official premiere date, the project is one of the network's highest-profile scripted productions currently in development and is expected to play a major role in its upcoming programming strategy.
For longtime fans, the biggest attraction will be the reunion of iconic characters whose rivalries and alliances helped turn the franchise into one of the most successful exports in Colombian television history.
Premiere: To Be Announced
