MUMBAI: Off-spinner, opening batter, coach, selector, CAC member to decide on appointing Indian coach, matchmaker to former India pacer Zaheer Khan. There were few hats that former India coach and opener Aunshuman Gaekwad did not don in a memorable cricketing journey of 55 years.
There were also very few people that the 70-year old did not get along with during his 40-Test and 15-match ODI career. Perhaps that explained why a galaxy of past and current stars descended upon the CK Nayudu Hall at the Cricket Club Of India to pay their tributes to Anshu or Anshu bhai on the release of his biography Guts Amidst Bloodbath, written by Aditya Bhushan and edited by Sachin Bajaj on Friday.
