Fresh police appeal for missing Scots hiker who disappeared over a year ago

Police searching for a missing Scots hiker who vanished over a year ago are appealing for fresh information on his whereabouts.

Neil Scott was last seen at a Co-op store in Campbeltown, Argyll and Bute, on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

Just five days later, the 59-year-old's dog was found 8 miles away at the Earadale Point, outside Machrihanish, with no trace of its owner. Neil has not been found since.

Officers investigating his disappearance have launched a fresh appeal in a bid for information on his whereabouts. Neil is described as being around 5ft 10in, of a medium build and with thinning grey/white hair.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing walking attire - including a black thigh-length winter coat with a hood and reflective white stripes, blue jeans, a dark-coloured cap and beige walking boots.

Anybody with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0984 of 8th July 2021.
