The January transfer window has just opened and that means the future of Frenkie de Jong is back on the table.
The Barcelona midfielder has been linked with a move away from the cash-strapped LaLiga giants for quite some time now with Manchester United the club waiting in the wings to sign the Dutchman.
De Jong has been apprehensive about leaving Barcelona despite a tumultuous 12 months at the Camp Nou, in which at times the club has apparently tried to force him out. Man United boss Erik ten Hag has previously worked with his compatriot at Ajax and is exactly what the midfielder needs right now.
