Teenager Gustav McKeon broke a world record during France's 2024 T20 World Cup qualifying match against Switzerland in Finland by striking a brilliant century.
McKeon blasted 109 off just 61 balls in an innings that include nine sixes and five fours, as France posted a total of 157-5.
In the process, he became the youngest player to score a T20I hundred at the age of 18 years and 280 days.
Afghanistan star Hazratullah Zazai was the previous record holder, having made an unbeaten 162 off 62 balls against Ireland in 2019 at the age of 20 years and 337 days.
Despite McKeon's efforts with the bat, France lost the match in dramatic fashion by just one wicket with McKeon bowling the final over.
Ali Nayyer scored an excellent 48 not out off just 16 balls and struck a four off the final delivery of the match to earn Switzerland a crucial victory, with captain Faheem Nazir also contributing 67.
McKeon's century followed another impressive innings in France's qualifier against the Czech Republic, where he scored 76 off 54 balls as they won the match by 51 runs.
France currently sit second in Group 2 behind Norway, who have beaten Estonia and the Czech Republic.
Austria and Guernsey are currently top of Group 1 with two wins each and the team which wins the tournament will join Denmark, Italy, Jersey, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and Scotland in next year's Europe Qualifier.
