French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said there can be "no room for tolerance of violence", as tens of thousands of students took to the streets nationwide on Tuesday to protest over the state of schools. He told parliament that high schools would clear their schedules for the rest of the week to create space for democratic debate and air grievances.

Addressing parliament during a question session on Tuesday, Lecornu condemned the level of violence seen in recent days during the student-led protests.
