French millionaire attacks Fergie for buying £5m Mayfair house after thinking Yorks were 'penniless'

The Duchess of York has been bitterly attacked for splashing out on a £5m house in Mayfair by a French Millionaire who has been in a long-running financial dispute with the royal.

Back in 2014 Fergie and ex-husband, Prince Andrew, bought Isabelle de Rouvre's Swiss chalet in the plush ski resort of Verbier for £18 million.

They hammered out a deal in which they paid her £5 million of the sale in cash instalments, with agreed interest payments.
