France's government on Thursday condemned the return of expelled Russian commentator Xenia Federova to conservative TV channel, CNews, for alleged Kremlin ties. Federova was formally expelled from France in August over claims she was a Kremlin agent and accusations that she spread Kremlin propaganda on French television and radio.

France's interior minister warned on Thursday of criminal proceedings if a French television channel allows back on air a Russian commentator who was expelled over claims that she is a Kremlin agent.
