French drive tractors through streets of Paris in pesticide protest

Sugarbeet farmers brought central Paris to a standstill driving hundreds of tractors onto the streets to oppose an EU-directed pesticide ban and demand “food sovereignty” for France.

The blockade in Paris on Wednesday came in a protest against environmental regulations they say are threatening farm production in the European Union’s largest agricultural power.
