As the guest designer at Pitti Uomo 106, Marine Serre brought her A game. Already a respected name in womenswear, the brand's eponymous founder's Spring 2025 Menswear collection is a soft yet refreshing departure from her signature formfitting designs without compromising her sartorial identity.
This also happens to be Serre's first presentation outside of Paris. We get the immense privilege of getting to know the Marine Serre man. "I don't have one personality or type of body," the designer said. "It's more of the energy of the type of person I meet. So the Marine Serre man exists because of his swag and adaptability."
The menswear offering included a black single-breasted suit featuring a slightly oversize blazer and an assortment of gold necklaces, far from your average suit. Double-breasted suits soon followed along with silk wool overcoats, hybrid button-down shirts with oversize cuffs and the pièce de résistance of the collection — an airbrushed leather two-piece pants set shown in an unconventional crimson red, Prince-like purple and inviting tan orange adorned in, you guessed it, the brand's staple crescent moon logo. The logo also made its way to the matching ties and bags.
The French designer's unmatched approach to womenswear wasn't forgotten as models decorated the runway with haute couture pieces, including sultry dresses that completely exposed thighs and naked dresses. Multicolored plaid came in the form of oversize blazers, elongated coats and miniskirts. Finally, Serre closed the show with eight looks that meshed intricate tailoring and haute couture dressing in white to spread a message of peace and love, reminding us of her graduate collection from 2016.
