Gisèle Pelicot’s rape case returns to court as man appeals conviction

An appeals court in France is hearing the case of a man sentenced to nine years in prison for his role in a drugging and rape trial that shook France and turned Gisèle Pelicot into a global icon.

Husamettin Dogan, 44, was sentenced to nine years in prison last December but denies he intended to rape Pelicot.
