The Fremantle Dockers have rejected a trade request from key forward Rory Lobb, as the club confirmed another tall, Griffin Logue, had also asked for a move.
Wingman Blake Acres has also asked for a trade, as has midfielder Darcy Tucker.
Lobb, who has a year to run on his contract but had been linked with a move to the Western Bulldogs, has been told his request for a move could not be accommodated.
"Contracted player Rory Lobb also requested a trade but was informed that given his contractual status and his importance to the structure of the team, a trade would not be possible," a Dockers statement said.
Acres and Logue both played 20 games for Fremantle in 2022, playing key roles in driving the club to its first finals campaign in seven years.
Club to work through options
Fremantle's football boss Peter Bell said the club would work through options for both players to try and get the best possible deal.
"Griffin and Blake, were both important players for the club in 2022 and it's no surprise they have generated interest from other clubs," Bell said.
"They are both out of contract and whilst we are disappointed they are seeking to continue their careers elsewhere, we will work to ensure the club is fairly compensated.
"In our discussion Griff stated that "it was the hardest decision he had ever had to make" and that he loves the club and his teammates.
"He also communicated that he was very keen to ensure a positive result for all parties through the trade process."
The club said that while Tucker is also still contracted, they would try and find a new home for him.
"Darcy Tucker and his management will explore the possibility of a trade with the full support of the club," the club statement said.
"If a mutually beneficial outcome can be reached for both parties then a trade might be facilitated, however if a trade does not eventuate, Tucker and the club are both comfortable with him returning and fulfilling his contract in 2023."
The AFL's trade period begins on October 3 and will run until October 12.
