A mum-of-one described as a "free spirit" thought she had IBS before being diagnosed with bowel cancer.
Delilah May, from Skelmersdale, began to experience pain in her stomach and bloating that wouldn't go away but she put it down to irritable bowel syndrome. The pain started to get worse between March and July 2021 and Delilah said she started having severe back pain when she spoke to LancsLive last year.
However, it was in July 2021 that her symptoms started getting worse and the young mum started vomiting "at least once a week." Delilah was told at the beginning of May 2022 that she had just 18 months to live. Delilah had around £9,000 raised for her to enjoy what little time she had left with her son Jake and fiancee Mark.

The money, raised by Ged and Pamela Barton who own the Ship Inn in Haskayne, near Ormskirk, where she worked, went towards her wedding which took place in November last year. Delilah died on New Year's Eve at the age of 28, with her family, friends and colleagues keen to make sure her name isn't forgotten.
Ged, 60, paid tribute to the "free spirit" who worked for him and his wife for four years. He told the ECHO: "She was quirky, a free spirit.
"She was just a brilliant person and she was like a breath of fresh air when she started working here. She was good at her job and always on time.
"Most importantly she was just a good person. We did a fundraiser for her when she was still here and we raised £9,000 which went towards her wedding."
Now, Ged, Pamela and former colleagues of Delilah are coming together next month to raise money for Woodlands Hospice which supported the mum during her final months. The group of around 15 will be climbing Coniston in the Lake District on February 6.
