Free physiotherapy services on offer in Markets area of Belfast

A physiotherapy group has announced the expansion of its services with a launch in the Markets area of Belfast.

The programme offers free advice and support to the local community in the South Belfast district.

Services will be delivered every Monday morning from 9am to 12 pm.

Co-founder of The Physio Group NI, Kieran Murray said: "This is an excellent opportunity for those in the Markets area who have been on the NHS waiting list for musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

"With the help of Ciaran and all the staff at the community centre, the initiative has been a great success so far. We have met patients who have been on waiting lists for months and seen a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries.

"It's great to see how much of a positive impact this programme has on the community, helping people who need urgent care."

The Physio Group is a Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic that first opened in 2005 in Newry. They now operate in three clinics across Northern Ireland in Belfast, Newcastle, and Newry.

Its two co-founders, charted physiotherapists Frank Quinn and Kieran Murray have extensive experience, having worked in the English Premier League (Sunderland AFC), Inter-County Level Gaelic Football men's and women's teams, as well as women’s MMA fighter Leah McCourt.

The Physio Group's new initiative will last until the end of July, with the last session available being the July 25. The programme is inclusive to people of any age group and injury. If you would like to book an appointment, you can contact Ciaran at the Markets community centre on 028 9023 5969 or email community@belfastcity.gov.uk.
