Excitement is building up as a popular theme park will offer free rides on the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Located at just a stone's throw from Nottinghamshire, the Fantasy Island park in Skegness will welcome visitors with free rides on a newly-renamed rollercoaster.
As the UK prepares for celebrations this June, the award-winning theme park will rename its popular ride, The Odyssey, to The Platinum Jubilee Odyssey, in honour of our monarch. Ensuring the whole family can get involved in the celebrations, Fantasy Island is also offering free rides on the renamed rollercoaster on Thursday, June 2, between 11am and 6pm.
The Odyssey was originally built in 2002 and titled The Jubilee Odyssey to celebrate the Queen’s then Golden Jubilee – and the royal connections do not stop there. The ride which reaches speeds of up to 63mph - was first opened by cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Edward the Duke of Kent.
