Organisers of Our Place in Space have announced an epic programme of free family friendly events to mark the final weekend of the sculpture trail in Derry over Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May 2022.
The trail has been much-loved, with families and friends taking advantage of the warmer weather to walk the 10km trail along the Foyle.
On it's arrival weekend, the people of Derry even smashed the world record of the most astronauts in one place.

The final weekend will be sure to send off Our Place in Space with a bang.
The two-day space jam packed programme will animate the Walled Garden at St Columb’s Park with outdoor film screenings, musical performances, drum workshops, yoga classes, nature walks and much more.
This weekend marks the final opportunity for the public to experience the iconic sculpture trail and St Columb’s Park which is located close to the trail will come alive with activities and fun for all the family.
Beginning with samba performances and In Your Space circus performers then the stage wll come alive with music and dance performances from DuoZouk, Fireworks Dance Academy, Magwere and Basork.
Workshops on Saturday include djembe drums, cosmic storytelling, space graffiti art, yoga, basket weaving and a nature walk and talk.
The big screen will come outdoors in the evening for screenings of Muppets from Space and Wall-E.
Sunday’s programme includes a showcase by young acts from Nerve Centre’s music Hothouse programme followed by performances from local acts Parker, Tessio and Roe.
Workshops continue throughout Sunday with an accessible bike tour of the planets, art and solar system building activities as well as t-shirt and badge making.

Our Place in Space is an epic scale model of the solar system designed by artist Oliver Jeffers that has illuminated the banks of the Foyle over the last four weeks with an eclectic programme of tours, outdoor performances, stargazing and much more.
The project is part of UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK, a celebration of creativity and innovation across the UK from March to October 2022.
Following its successful run in the north west the trail will move to Divis and the Black Mountain, Belfast in June, to Cambridge in July and finally to the Ulster Transport Museum in September.
