Dozens of bikers will ride into Ayr this Sunday as a popular all-day motorcycle and music event returns to the town.
‘Rock the Nile’ will see an incredible motorbike display at Ayr’s Nile Court alongside live music, pop up stalls, food, face painting and fun for the whole family.
The free event, which kicks off at Harleys at 12 noon, is coining in funds for West FM Cash for Kids, who support disadvantaged children and young people across the region.
A morning bike run will see riders leave from outside Ayr India (Blackburn car park) at 10.30am before rolling into Nile Court.
A non-stop live music schedule will then welcome 10 local acts, who have all donated their time to entertain music lovers and motorbike enthusiasts alike.
And DJ Ian McAdam will provide a floor-filling set until 2.30am.
Lyndsey Pollock, Director of Events & Promotions, said: “We’re working in conjunction with Jax Monaghan; Jax and her partner Scott are very much part of the biker community.
“The event starts with a morning bike run. The bikers will be leaving the car park at Ayr India at 10.30am and they’ll be going a nice run round the countryside and will end up back at Harleys at around 12.30, where they will display all of their motorbikes within Nile Court.
“It’s really impressive. In previous years it’s spilled right out of Nile Court and on to the High Street.
“It should be really eye-catching.
“Our main entertainment for the day is a live music schedule. We have 10 local acts all donating their time for free and performing for us.
“Everyone concerned has donated their time for free so it’s incredibly kind of them.
“The family friendly aspect is brilliant as well; it really is for all ages."
Lyndsey added that Harleys’ kitchen will be open from 12noon serving up pizzas, hot dogs and nachos, with their beer garden also open.
Pop up stalls include home baking, craft cards and bath bombs, biker accessories, sweets, artwork prints and more.
The event is kindly sponsored by Fastrak Motorcycle Training and Jack Daniels.
