Determined Fraser Murray insists Kilmarnock want to win every trophy they compete for.
The Ayrshire side’s hunt for the league title continues this weekend at home to Hamilton Accies – but before then they have a Rugby Park date with Raith Rovers in the SPFL Trust Trophy semi-final tonight.
And the Killie winger, who made his debut for Hibs and scored in the competition, says they are in it to win it.
He said: “We are in it to win it 100 per cent. I know we want to win the league and get promoted, but at the same time everyone wants to win a trophy.
“It’s a hard game in the semi-final, so we won’t look too far ahead, but if you win this competition it gives you a good bit of excitement and a feelgood factor to hopefully kick on in the league as well. It’s a win-win.
“We don’t want to be in the cup next year – but the Colts can defend it if we win it!
“But it’s a semi-final now, it doesn’t matter what competition you are in you want to win it.
“Every player, every manager, every fan wants to celebrate a cup win.”
Despite the last-four clash being at home, Murray doesn’t reckon that will make too much difference in a one-off cup clash.
He said: “It is an advantage, but at the same time it’s a cup competition. Most people look at it differently because it goes to extra-time and penalties.
“It’s completely different from a league game, it doesn’t matter if it’s home or away, it’s just on the day whatever happens you take it from there.”
