Missing Scots pensioner who 'may be disorientated' is traced

A search operation to trace a missing pensioner who 'may be disorientated' has been called off.

Thomas Duncan, 65, has been found after vanishing from the Headwell Avenue area of Dunfermline in Fife at 4.45pm today. Officers investigating his disappearance said he may have become disorientated.

Members of the public, including dog walkers, were asked to keep a look out for Thomas. Locals were also also been urged to check their sheds and outbuildings.

Following the police appeal, officers have since confirmed Thomas has been traced safe and well.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that Thomas Duncan, 65, reported missing from Dunfermline, has been traced safe and well. Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal.
