The Carolina Panthers may be closer to getting their No. 1 one-on-one defender back.
With much of the team’s defense still trying to heal up from a rough first half of the season, a pair of starters in the secondary are seemingly inching towards their returns. The first of which could be safety Vonn Bell, who missed the past two games due to a quadriceps injury.
“Vonn was limited in practice,” head coach Frank Reich told reporters this afternoon. “We’ll see how he responds today. Obviously, didn’t do everything today, so we’ll see how he responds tonight. Maybe he can do more tomorrow.
“My guess is that’s gonna be right up to game time with Vonn. I really think it’s gonna be right up to game time. I think it’ll be close, love to get him up if we can. But we just don’t know. We have to see how he progresses over the next couple days.”
Reich also touched on cornerback Jaycee Horn, who hasn’t been on the field since sustaining a hamstring injury in Week 1.
“Yeah, Jaycee—makin’ great progress,” Reich replied. “Still, probably a week or so, a week or two away.”
Horn underwent a surgical procedure on the hamstring injury back in September. He has played in 17 of a possible 40 games since being drafted with the eighth overall pick in 2021.
