The Carolina Panthers may be getting two very important players back pretty soon.
On Monday, after a bit of the the dust from the Great Play-Calling Change of 2023 settled, head coach Frank Reich gave some small updates on right guard Austin Corbett and cornerback Jaycee Horn. He was asked if he believes the two will be back following this Week 7 bye.
“With Corbett, I think things are trending very positively,” he said. “Jaycee—I know we have an appointment, he has a check-up here with the doctor coming up this week. That will be the next step to making a determination. It’s coming this week, in a couple days. So he’ll meet with the doc and we’ll kinda get the next step there.”
Corbett is seemingly on the tail-end of his recovery from a torn ACL, which he sustained in last year’s season finale. The veteran hog molly was cleared to return to practice on Oct. 4.
Horn, who made an early exit from this year’s season opener, underwent a procedure on his injured hamstring last month. The 2021 eighth overall pick has missed 22 of a possible 37 games in his three-year NFL career.
