Frank Recruitment to open office in Canada creating 50 jobs

North East based Frank Recruitment Group is further expanding its reach overseas with the opening of a new office in Canada – its 23rd global hub.

The Newcastle firm, which was first launched in Newcastle city centre in 2006 with just three members of staff, is set to create 50 new jobs by opening a base in Montreal, starting with an initial team of 15.

The specialist tech recruiter said the business aims to fill the Canadian digital skills gap. The new office is set to open this August.

The Montreal office will initially be a base for the firm’s Anderson Frank and Jefferson Frank brands, specialising in sourcing NetSuite and AWS talent, following on from the brands’ success in several locations around the world.

Since its launch 16 years ago, Frank Recruitment has become a leader in cloud IT recruitment and now employs more than 3,000 members of staff in its global network of offices.

The firm said its plans to branch further into Canada were fuelled by Montreal’s reputation as a digital centre. The Montreal office will help the group expand its services within the Americas and help to tackle the digital skills gap, sourcing professionals for businesses to help complete digital transformations and cloud migrations.

Vice president Owen Barette, who is the newly appointed senior office leader for the Montreal hub, said: “The demand for cloud tech has skyrocketed over the past two years, so we knew that our services would continue to be needed, particularly given it has grown so much that the industry is now faced with an even wider digital skills gap than it was already challenged with.

“By bringing our expertise and knowledge to a location where IT professionals are already so highly in demand and where the market is already thriving, we hope to maintain our reputation as a world-leading cloud recruitment specialist and help boost businesses in the local area through providing them with the right talent that can help them use, understand, and diagnose cloud tech issues, as well as being able to carry out migrations for those who are yet to move to the cloud.”

Rowan O’Grady, president of Americas for Frank Recruitment, added: “I’m so pleased to finally be able to share our company’s latest achievement with you. Having digital infrastructure in place is crucial to the modern working world, and we’re so proud to be able to help address market-wide issues like the digital skills gap through the work we do.

“The Canadian tech market is absolutely booming which means there’s plenty of opportunities for us to connect talented IT professionals with businesses that need their help to fulfil both their short- and longer-term goals. We’re deeply passionate about establishing these connections and helping both companies and professionals grow and thrive, so we hope Montreal is as excited as we are about our arrival.”
