Frank Lampard is pleased to be back at Cobham training ground after being appointed Chelsea caretaker manager. The Blues were heavily linked with numerous candidates to replace Graham Potter at Stamford Bridge but, with Todd Boehly eager to replace Bruno Saltor, the 44-year-old has been drafted in until the end of the season.
In the meantime, the west London outfit are continuing their search for a permanent successor with Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann said to be the frontrunners. Despite only being brought in on a temporary basis, Lampard is planning to install his own ideas – and he's looking forward to working hard.
During his first tenure, the former England international re-established the club's identity and integrated the likes of Mason Mount and Reece James into the first-team. As Lampard sat in his chair before the press conference began, he said to the gathered reporters: "It's nice to be back."
