Frank Lampard refused to answer questions regarding Anthony Gordon's current situation amid a possible move to Newcastle on Saturday evening. The Everton boss opted to leave the 21-year-old on the bench for the entirety of the 2-0 defeat to West Ham as speculation rumbles on over a potential Tyneside switch this month.
Newcastle, along with Chelsea, were keen to sign Gordon in the summer but Everton held out and kept the young attacker at Goodison Park instead. The Toffees have since struggled so far this term and Gordon has only played 21 minutes of league football since Boxing Day.
Newcastle are now looking for more attacking firepower following Chris Wood's exit - and Gordon is back on the club's radar. However, Lampard was not in the mood to answer questions about a potential exit when pressed on Saturday.

"There's a little bit of speculation concerning Anthony Gordon and a possible move to Newcastle," one reporter said to Lampard. "He obviously didn't make it off the bench today. Can you shed any light on that?"
To which Lampard bluntly replied: "No. Sorry, no." Before he had even answered his question, the Chelsea legend was up out of his seat and heading for the door.
Chelsea were the only rivals for Gordon's signature in the summer but have since turned their attention to different attacking targets. Newcastle, meanwhile, are now actively trying to secure a deal for an attacker in the final days of the January window.
A price tag of £60million was slapped on Gordon's shoulders in the summer with the player himself saying in September: "Personally, I don’t think any player is worth that amount of money but I’m also not going to talk myself down."
