Frank Lampard has admitted it has been "difficult" to prepare for Nottingham Forest's visit following Steve Cooper's additions to his squad.
Forest have welcomed 16 new signings to the club thus far this window, with the latest being Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. It has certainly been a busy period at the City Ground but the Reds are determined to excel in their return to the English top-flight.
Forest will make the trip to Merseyside on Saturday (3pm), on the back of their first league win against West Ham last weekend. Former Derby County boss Lampard revealed it has not been straightforward planning for the game because of those signings.

Speaking in his press-conference, Lampard said: "It’s difficult to prepare in terms of personnel, you’re not sure. Obviously aware of how they were playing last season but the new personnel does give you some difficulties. So I think it’s a game to focus a lot on ourselves, having an understanding of how they play, the usual characteristics they will show regardless of their personnel and then respect them.
"When a team comes up, a good team and good coach, spends that amount of money and improves their squad so drastically, they’re going to be serious contenders in the Premier League so let’s see."
Asked about whether he was surprised with the job done by Cooper upon Forest's return to the Premier League, Lampard added: "Yes [it surprised a lot of people]. An incredible feat for him personally, he’s a really good, young coach.
"I like seeing those stories, I think it’s good that people show trust in the young coaches. There’s a lot of talent in coaches in this country and Steve Cooper showed that massively last season and now is going to show this season in the Premier League."
