Frank Lampard leads Coventry back to the Premier League

  • Coventry City have been promoted to the Premier League following a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers on Friday night.
  • The Sky Blues secured their spot back in the top-flight with an equaliser from Bobby Thomas in the 84th minute after Ryoya Morishita had given Blackburn the lead.
  • Coventry have not played in the Premier League since 2001, but their 25-year wait to play in England’s top division is over.
  • With Frank Lampard in the dugout, Coventry have led the Championship for several months, and are on the brink of being crowned champions.
  • They currently have an 11-point lead over second-placed Ipswich Town, although Ipswich do have two games in hand.
